for Interactive shared Knowledge base)

The project aims at creating a first network of South Asian and European partners interested in sharing their knowledge in applied computer science for taxonomy and in the preparation of two CD-ROMs for identifying trees species in two “hotspots” of biodiversity: the rain forests in the Western Ghats of India and in the northern Annamite Mountain range of Lao PDR.

The database contains data of 302 trees in 4 languages (English, Kannada, Malayalam,Tamil) with lot of images under Botanical descriptions, Ecology, Distribution and Literatures. The most important thing is all the data are Downloadable Free of cost! Its one of the most informative site for scholars of Indian medicine and botany.
